Summer Associate -- Litigation and Employment Law

Job Summary &
Responsibilities:
The successful summer intern candidate will report to the Assistant General Counsel --Litigation, Risk Management & Employment during summer 2015. In this role, he or she may:
Assist with creating audit protocol and conducting audits (FLSA, independent contractor);
Help put into place contract administration procedures to administer company-wide independent contractor relationships;
Assist in drafting/revising and communicating policies;
Help out with in-person training (specifically, new HR and New Manager training in the following areas: the independent contractor process, email/document retention policy; Employment Law for Managers; and perhaps some compliance initiatives); and
Help create and manage tracking of world-wide company litigation and create reports for executive management and/or Board of Directors; and
Help create and manage tracking of HR litigation, demand letters, administrative complaints, significant employee relations and investigations and create reports for executive management and/or Board of Directors.
This internship will give provide the law student with the opportunity to get an insider's perspective on the excitement and challenges of working in-house for a global public company from a litigation or labor and employment counsel's perspective. Some travel is a possibility.
The ideal candidate will have:
Bachelor's degree
1 to 2 years of law school, including:
o Legal writing coursework
o labor employment coursework
Practical experience, including
o Trial practice coursework
o Moot court
o A litigation clinic experience
An interest in litigation and/or labor and employment,
Microsoft suite skills, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel
