Job Summary
The Senior Accountant will provide end to end accounting support to the Asset Managers for Investment Funds comprised of multiple solar systems. Develops, implements and/or maintains accounting systems including:
Journal entries, General Ledger, Accounts Receivables, Accounts Payable, Revenue Reconciliation, etc. Reviews and interprets financial reporting requirements, rules and regulations. Balances books and prepares profit and loss, cash flow, income and balance sheet statements. Monitors and develops monthly reports of revenues and expenditures for projects. Provides record of assets, liabilities and other financial transactions. May prepare federal, state and local reports and tax returns. May assist in the setup of processes and procedures that properly capture, track and report revenue, including deferred revenue, in accordance with the company revenue recognition policy. May generate revenue reports for internal and/or external use. May interpret reports and records for managers/stakeholders. May be involved in reviewing, tracking and maintaining billing information in the financial systems, ensuring accuracy and compliance with U.S. GAAP and other accounting regulations. Works on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. Exercises judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Networks with key contacts outside own area of expertise.
Job Responsibilities
Responsible for the accounting, reporting, and compliance for complicated tax equity structures.
Calculate and record HLBV adjustments.
Managing all accounting activity for the solar assets
Prepare and reveiw journal entries
Oversee billing and customer interactions, revenue recognition and collections.
Oversee accounts payable process for specific projects
Calculate, initiate and record debt service payments
Review contracts, ensure appropriate treatment and compliance
Prepare and review reports required by lenders, investors and asset managers
Monitor cash activity, maintain reserve requirements, maximize distributions.
Monitoring project performance against original projections
Perform and reveiw account reconciliations
Ensure compliance with SOX and internal controls
Manage internal and external audit requirements
Maintain and provide all supporting documentation
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree
Six years of related work experience.
Experience with complex financing structures
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree
Ten years of relevant work experience
Experience in public accounting or Big 4 preferred.
Energy sector or solar energy experience in utility, commercial or residential/small commercial environment.
