Position Details

We are expanding our Project Management Office and are looking for a Senior Technical Project Manager who will manage complex development projects within an agile environment. The Senior Project Manager works with the product owner(s) and technology teams in translating the product vision into a workable plan. The Senior Project Manager is then responsible for leading the planning, monitoring, execution, and successful completion of their release and projects- on scope, budget, and schedule and meeting all project metrics for quality. Manage the expectations of all stakeholders through transparent and proactive communications.
Requirements:
Direct and manage development releases and projects within an agile environment
Develop and plan communication strategies to ensure status, activities, accomplishments, issues, and risks are communicated. Facilitate effective and efficient forward looking project meetings.
Acts as servant leader by sharing decision-making with the High performance team, putting the success of the team first and motivating team members
Pro-actively manage changes to project scope, identify potential risks, and devise contingency plans
Coach, mentor, motivate and supervise project teams, and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work
Build, develop, and grow any business relationships vital to the success of the project
Liaise with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis
Estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals
Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path
Plan and schedule project time-lines and milestones using appropriate tools
Track project milestones and deliverables
Conduct project post mortems and create a recommendations report in order to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements
Develop best practices and tools for project execution and management.
Drives the creation of preliminary project and release plans
Ensures that the project/team plans and milestones are coordinated through the director and other project managers.
Performs release planning (Scrum of Scrums) and coordinates with environment stakeholders (Development Operations, QA, Dev leads and Infrastructure leads) to understand the demands for the application environments and establishes a realistic release schedule.
Facilitates resolution of application, infrastructure and cross-project team issues
Serves as Scrum Master when needed
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree and at least 7 years leading technical software projects and implementations in a matrix environment.
10
years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and work experience
Agile Scrum Master Certification preferred
PMP Certification preferred
Healthcare industry experience is preferred
Managed Application development projects through life cycle utilizing a combination of waterfall and scrum methodologies and developing detailed plans (BI and Data Warehouse project management experience preferred)
Has some familiarity with data architecture and components (EDW, ETL, Reporting, Cubes, etc.)
Strong familiarity with IT lifecycles and project management software, such as MS Project and preferably portfolio management tools such as Clarity
Experience working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
Ability to conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities
Ability to read communication styles of team members and contractors who come from a broad spectrum of disciplines
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
